Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo refers to the communities and reserve lands encompassed within the boundaries of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
Specifically, this includes:
The communities of Fort McMurray, Anzac, Conklin, Draper, Fort Chipewyan, Fort Fitzgerald, Fort McKay, Gregoire Lake Estates, Janvier, Mariana Lake and Saprae Creek Estates.
The reserve lands of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation, Chipewyan Prairie First Nation, Fort McMurray No. 468 First Nation, Fort McKay First Nation, Mikisew Cree First Nation.
The region is also home to many Métis . Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo lies within Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) Regions I and V, and includes Locals 125 (Fort Chipewyan), 63 (Fort McKay), 1935 and 2020 (both in Fort McMurray), 780 (Anzac), and Local 193 (Conklin).
